Normally these half-assed attempts at re-editing things to wacky and unexpected music are at most semi-entertaining, but this video made a direct hit for my funny bone (I'll probably regret writing that phrase tomorrow morning, but who cares, KNIBB HIGH FOOTBALL RULES):
When in Minneapolis, I highly recommend Gasthof zur Gemütlichkeit for outstanding food, drink, and atmosphere. When there on Friday, I shot this video of Mark Stillman the accordian man. He was a ton of fun and very talented. By the by, that is me you hear drunkenly laughing and yelling, "nice!" on the video. I guess two bouts mit das boot will do that to you...
It's Mark, the accordion man. It's a year later.. Jan of 09 and just saw this for the first time. WOW, is this thing fun or what? I like that shredder comment. I love to tear up the tunes. Let me know when you're coming back to Gasthof and I'll bring my smoke detector.
Happy New Year Mark Stillman markstillman@comcast.net
Buckethead is the next musician in my exclusive TacticalAxiom Guitar Hero Series. It is my opinion that he may be insane or a genius, or a healthy dose of both. He is always pictured or filmed wearing a mask and a KFC bucket on his head and gives interviews through a silly voiced grotesque puppet. Regardless, the man is very skilled in guitar technique and very knowledgable about musical theory. You may know his song “Jordan” which is a bonus song in the GuitarHero II game (the song has not been released on any album as it is only available on GuitarHero II). Buckethead has worked on many Hollywood soundtracks and scores – listed here.
note: the embeded youtube video is a teenage Buckethead (filmed almost 20 years ago). It gets really amazing at 4:00 min.
I haven't really followed the Scooter Libby trail and have only a vague understanding of what the implications of this guilty verdict will be. I'm too lazy too look and i figure we can unprofessionally hash it out here since nothing else is going on.
So... is it wishful thinking to hope that Dick is going down next? Pun intended.
Wishful thinking indeed. Libby is the fall guy for this one (sacrificed to save Rove). The CIA took blame for the intel used to justify a reckless invasion/occupation. Privates take the fall and get courtmarshalled for torture and abuse in Iraqi prisons. Liberals get blamed for loving to "tax and spend" while this administration runs record deficits.
So at this rate, in 50 years Dick will be on some form of currency next to the words "In God We Trust."
I'm tubmling (trendy new word for lazy blogging) over at recreant.com and having all sorts of fun doing it. It's only links, videos, pictures, and quotes... not an original thought of my own. I'll reserve any future original thoughts for this site. Promise.
You may now continue arguing about politics with all of that disappointingly fruitless passion.
how long have you knows about this tumblog concept?
that's totally what i was thinking ta! was supposed to me. Originally, we had talked about posting only a specific topic (link, video, singular thought), and making your first comment be 'your take on that"
In other news, i don't support the whole 'get us out of iraq immediately' stance. If you have a retarded brother that spills milk all over the table, the rest of the family still has to clean up the mess. Even if you've always opposed spilling milk.
You won't be let down too much if you think about it like this: POLITICIAN = LIAR. Then you won't be letdown when they don't keep promises, mislead you, or cover their own ass (the good politicians can do all three at once).
I disagree with the milk analogy that implies the failing Iraq mission was an accident that no one could forsee and now we have to deal with. I would consider pre emptive shock and awe followed with an occupation to be quite deliberate.
i don't think the public, the media, or congress is off the hook on this. We gave him the glass of milk. Sure, there was plenty of voices saying that you shouldn't give him the glass, but it's our fault we didn't listen.
But that's not really the point. the point is there's milk all over the table, and it needs to get cleaned up. We're all responsible for the milk.
I saw this yesterday and was going to post it myself. So hilarious. The emo kids have to be kind of embarassed that it's not even as cool as it was in the 80s when kids were hanging out in graveyards and listening to Sabbath records backwards.
Jazz leads to being a tea smoking hophead, Rock and Roll leads to "mongrelization of our youth through afro beats", Punk leads to gang activity(?), Goth leads to extending the duration of your virginity, Metal leads to Dungeons and Dragons, and EMO LEADS TO CUTTING.
